Data Center Infrastructure

Data Center Infrastructure is the physical and organizational structures needed to operate a data center.

Key areas that are considered when designing a data center infrastructure include data cabling, grounding and bonding, infrastructure management and monitoring, power and cooling, and thermal management.

A data center infrastructure is made up of many common functions.  In general, data centers require internet access and wide-area communications, application hosting, content distribution, file storage and backup, database management, fail-safe power, fire suppression, high-performance cabling infrastructure, and physical security.
