Recognizing Community Impact: CyrusOne’s Contribution to Toys for Tots

In a heartwarming display of community engagement and generosity, CyrusOne’s Northern Virginia 5 data center (NVA5) recently received a commendation from Virginia Delegate David Reid for supporting the Marine Toys for Tots Program in Loudoun County. In addition to providing space and volunteers for the program in the past, CyrusOne has pledged to provide space for years to come, which was a relief to the organization that has had to find and move operations several times over the years.

The recognition was granted in appreciation of CyrusOne’s pivotal role in supporting the Toys for Tots initiative, in collaboration with the Loudoun County Fire Department and the U.S. Marine Corps. Since 1947, the Marine Toys for Tots Program has collected new unwrapped toys and distributed them to less fortunate children to help bring a message of joy and hope to them during the holidays. During the 2022 season, CyrusOne provided both space and volunteers, helping the organization distribute 14,362 toys to 9,262 children.

“The Loudoun County Toys for Tots program wouldn’t be successful without businesses like CyrusOne donating an operational area for us to run our program, the generosity of area families and organizations, and our tireless volunteers,” said Frank Holtz, Loudoun County Toys for Tots coordinator.

“We love the Toys for Tots program, enjoying being a part of it, and look forward to helping them every year with the goal of collecting more toys for more children than the year before,” said Robert Smith, CyrusOne senior director of regional operations. “We also appreciate Dave Johnson, John Cable, Gerald Travis, Jordan Ramzy, and Chris Ziarek, our colleagues who helped coordinate.”

You can donate to the program at any time during the year.
