Illinois Data Centers – CyrusOne
CyrusOne has two separate data center locations in Illinois. Both of these colocation data center facilities are found in the suburbs of Chicago: Aurora and Lombard.
Our Aurora location is 428,000 square feet and is a tier 3+ design. This data center holds 184 MW (92 MW at 2N) and is carrier neutral. This colocation sits on 16-acres of land and has room for expansion. With unregulated services, this center has a full complement of hosting and connectivity services for existing and new customers. There are expanded connectivity options available for customers that are involved with financial, cloud, energy and healthcare services.
This data center is an interconnected multi-facility platform with access to over 30 data centers in the US, Asia, and Europe for disaster, recovery, and business continuity. Both of our locations in Illinois offer colocation services, which includes data backup, storage, security, monitoring and “smart hands”.
Utilizing state-of-the-art cooling systems helps lower the electrical costs at each of our data center locations in Illinois. Our cooling towers use evaporative condensing chillers and highly efficient oil-free centrifugal compressors to assist in the most efficient cooling process.
Security will always be a top priority for CyrusOne at not only our Illinois data center locations but at every single location we have to offer. There are security guards in place 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We have a perimeter fence, biometric hand scanners, and all incoming packages are x-rayed. We also have card reader access on all customer suites, cages, and cabinets.
Our second data center location in Illinois is in Lombard. This colocation center is conveniently located just 20 miles west of the heart of downtown Chicago, Illinois and is also close to the O’Hare International Airport. This data center was built to top-tier standards. Hosted on two diverse and redundant utility feeds, high speed and high capacity network connection is available directly to downtown Chicago’s telecommunications hub. This connection provides a strong network to accommodate customers with specific latency and/or replication needs.
This data center colocation is 30,000 square feet with 14,000 square feet of either 24 or 36-inch raised floor design. Expansion space is available for custom data center halls or office space. This data center is part of our National Internet Exchange program and is SSAE 16 (SOC I type II), PCI DSS (sec 9 & 12), HIPAA, ISO 27001 and FISMA compliant. This facility utilizes CRAC units with a 420-ton capacity and has a glycol-cooling loop.
Security here includes: biometric security scans, recorded video surveillance of the interior and exterior, and cabinet and cage security options such as individual locks and biometric scanners. Both of our colocation facilities in Illinois have the Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA) in place to buy critical time needed to address and access any emergency situation. This data center is a 20-minute drive from Chicago O’Hare International Airport.
