CyrusOne has broken ground on a 92,000-square-foot data center being built adjacent to its Houston West Data Center.
The facility will have access to multiple telecommunication providers including: Abovenet, British Telecom, COLT, Easynet, Virgin Media, Vtesse and Verizon
High-density colocation specialist CyrusOne will expand into the European market with a new data center in London, the company said today. The 10,000 square foot facility is the first data center for CyrusOne outside Texas, and will expand the company’s international customer base and serve existing CyrusOne customers that have international data center requirements. CyrusOne has first rights of refusal on an additional 10,000 square feet, to be taken upon request.
Building a new data center is simultaneously an exciting and frightening prospect. A new data center can certainly enhance business operations. At the very least, constructing a new data center gives your enterprise an opportunity to correct old mistakes and do things right this time around. To keep the reality of building the data center as exciting as the prospect, re-evaluate and question everything you think you already know about data centers, from how they’re designed and built to how they operate on a daily basis. Pay special attention to the price of money and the long-term costs of power and maintenance.
